upon single-family vehicles

1992:
Action Plan developed
1997:
YARTS has narrowed transportation mode options down to the most
attainable in the near future. The Board identified a transit
service as the first step for the region and agreed to look
into rail in the future.
1998:
The YARTS board members looked at every possible scenario for
transit, including a no-build through a year-round mandatory
system in order to make sure they had objectively studied the
entire spectrum of transit service options. YARTS decided to
embark upon a voluntary transit service that would start small
and grow with need.
1999:
Board members voted to begin a two-year demonstration in the
summer of 2000.
